Umamaheswara is working in the Foundation Program at Dhofar University. He holds a PhD in ELT and has more than 15 years experience in teaching ESL/EFL. He has presented at conferences and published articles and coauthored book chapters.

English Language Assessment Practices at Dhofar University’s Foundation Program (PP36), Paper
Assessment is central in education and particularly in the teaching /learning process. Assessment plays a significant role as it provides feedback on the teaching and learning process. The present study explains assessment practices and their alignment with the learning outcomes of English language programs. It deals with the emerging issues during the process of alignment of assessment with the curriculum and further attempts to highlight the perspectives and views of teachers and students.
