Audio Recording Assessment to Motivate Independent Voice and Independent Learning (PP50), Paper
This study examines the effect of self-recordings in a university speaking course in northern Iraq, exploring learner and teacher perceptions. The study employs learner self-recordings and teacher reflections. The qualitative data were analysed to form generalizations which suggest that self-recordings can contribute not only to linguistic improvement but also to the development of independent voice, independent learning and enhancing motivation. The recordings were deemed beneficial as a tool for both formative assessment and learning.
