Andwatta currently teaches in the EAP department at UAE University. Previously, she taught K-5, adult education, was an assessment specialist, and served as an English Language Fellow at Qatar University. She holds an M.Ed. in TESOL.
Enhancing Students’ Reflective Writing Skills through Reflective Writing Tasks (PP117), Paper
Students are often expected to critically reflect on and analyze experiences they have had in their courses and in many cases they must then write their reflections. However, the ability to reflect must be explicitly cultivated. In this session, brief description of the key features of reflective thinking will be provided, then an explanation of how reflective writing tasks were used to develop students’ reflective writing skills in an English for Academic Purposes course will be given.
