Using Comics in the Classroom: Unlocking the Potential (WS13), Workshop
Comics, as a tool of employing narratives in educational settings, have gained increasing popularity in ELT. This workshop explores the effectiveness of using comics in language classes by presenting a brief overview of the theoretical background of using this multi-dimensional teaching aid. The main focus of this workshop is to highlight the best practices of using comics in our EFL classrooms in both school and university settings. Participants will get involved in hands-on activities using effective digital comic builders through both a user-friendly mobile phone application and a website.
