Translanguaging: Leveraging learners' full language repertoires (PP48), PaperIt is argued that languages should no longer be viewed as separate systems and that learners’ cognitive capacities can be maximized by utilizing their full resources. As part of the multilingual turn, the translanguaging approach has been introduced as a strategic and purposeful use of learners’ full linguistic and semiotic repertoires. The presentation will discuss the definition, purposes, strategies and challenges of employing translanguaging, and it will end with some sample activities for illustration.
