The Art of Structured Review (PP70), Paper
Arabic-speaking students of EFL face unique difficulties in learning vocabulary, partly because of limited crossover between English and Arabic. This paper analyzes the effectiveness of a structured review using images to help students learn vocabulary meaning and use. While structured review using images appears to be effective in helping students learn meaning across lexical categories, it needs to be fused with a structured review of usage to help Arabic-speaking students of EFL build deep vocabularies.
