L2 motivational orientations and investment among Arabic native speakers (PP129), Paper

This paper argues that L2 motivational orientations and investment form an intricate “spider’s web” in identity formation and language learning. Using analyses of survey and interview data procured in an institutional case, the paper examines dimensions of motivational orientation and investment among Arabic native speakers in a women’s college in the learning and use of their L2. It also considers variability in selected motivational and investment dimensions and its potential effects across the study period.
