Towards Effective Omani Higher Education: Enabling Transformative Learning (PP161), Paper

The paper aims to highlight ways transformative learning can be enabled in formal higher education in Oman, which is seen to parallel current educational reform efforts that aim to improve the quality of educational provision and outcomes. An enabling approach is suggested whereby community engagement, external scrutiny and sharable learning outcomes constitute chief components of enabling transformative learning. Concrete examples and applications will be suggested as relevant to the context of learner empowerment.
